Full Stack Software Developer - TypeScript

We're looking for a Full Stack Software Developer with strong commercial experience in Laravel, Vue 3, TypeScript and GraphQL to join our established in-house development team.

This is an on-site role in Bury (BL9). Applicants must already live within a reasonable commuting distance of Bury, Greater Manchester to be considered.

Essential skills & experience

Strong commercial experience with PHP 8+ and Laravel

Commercial experience with Vue 3, Composition API and SPAs

Commercial experience with TypeScript

Commercial experience with GraphQL

Strong MySQL experience

Experience writing PHPUnit feature tests using TDD

Experience with Docker

Experience working with CI/CD

Experience working within a collaborative development team with regular code reviews

Vue 3, TypeScript and GraphQL are essential requirements. We're looking for someone who can get up to speed with our technical environment quickly, with the main learning curve being our business and systems.

What you'll be doing

You'll develop, maintain and improve business-critical applications across our group of companies using:

PHP 8.5 · Laravel 13 · Vue 3 · TypeScript · GraphQL · MySQL 8.4 · Docker · GitHub Actions CI/CD · Soketi/WebSockets · Microsoft Graph · Claude Code

Your role will include:

Building backend services and features using PHP and Laravel

Developing SPAs using Vue 3 Composition API and TypeScript

Developing and integrating GraphQL APIs

Writing feature tests using PHPUnit and TDD

Working with MySQL and optimising application performance

Working with Docker and GitHub Actions CI/CD

Developing real-time functionality using Soketi/WebSockets

Building integrations including Microsoft Graph

Using Claude Code and agentic AI tools within the development workflow

Supporting and improving live production systems

Participating in regular code reviews and technical discussions

Nice to have

Energy sector experience, particularly electricity and gas metering

Experience writing and maintaining Docker images

Experience writing GitHub Actions CI/CD workflows

Experience with Pusher-style WebSockets

Experience using agentic AI development tools

Some proficiency with C# / .NET

About the team

You'll join an established in-house development team of around 11–15 people, working on systems that are critical to the day-to-day operation and growth of the business.

You'll have ownership of your work, contribute to technical decisions and work directly with colleagues and stakeholders to turn business requirements into well-built technical solutions.

Location & working

Location: Bury, Greater Manchester (BL9)

Working arrangement: On-site

Core hours: 9:30am–2:00pm, Monday–Friday

Candidates must already live within commuting distance of Bury, Greater Manchester. This is not a remote role.
