Senior PHP (Laravel) Developer

Manchester (3 Days Office / 2 Days WFH)

Mediablanket is one of the UK's fastest-growing fintech groups, expanding rapidly into new territories and sectors. We build high-performance platforms across finance, telecoms, gaming, and data — and we're now looking for a strong Senior Laravel Developer to join our engineering team at a pivotal stage of growth.

This is a role for someone who takes ownership, cares about clean architecture, and wants to help shape real products used by thousands of customers daily.

What You'll Be Doing

Leading backend development across multiple products using Laravel

Designing, building, and maintaining complex APIs, microservices, and integrations

Working closely with the CTO to plan and architect new features and systems

Owning database structures, optimisation, and performance tuning

Collaborating with designers and front-end developers to deliver seamless user experiences

Ensuring applications meet high standards of scalability, security, and reliability

Overseeing hosting environments (Plesk, cPanel, AWS) and recommending improvements

Reviewing code, mentoring junior devs, and helping to raise engineering standards across the team

What You'll Bring

5+ years' experience in PHP, with deep knowledge of Laravel

Strong database and API development experience

Solid front-end understanding (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). React or Livewire experience is a bonuss

Hands-on experience with AWS and deployment pipelines

Strong Git/version control experience and familiarity with modern DevOps workflows

Excellent problem-solving ability and a passion for writing well-structured, maintainable code

Someone who enjoys collaboration, communicates clearly, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
